I got this Webster's Dictionary from 1963 just because I like books :)
Another steal...I got this vintage lunchbox for $1. It is selling online for $80. I have soo many cute ideas for this piece. I am trying white vinegar to get the rust off...maybe baking soda and water/paste? Or lemon juice?
Yay for a great day of finds!
That lantern IS fantastic! I have an old red plaid vintage thermos that would be so cute in a little vignette with your lantern and lunchbox.
ReplyDeleteAww thank you! Do you have a picture of the thermos? I will probably come across something similar at some point!
DeleteSo where do you get all these finds? Obviously some are side of the road, as you've said...garage sales? Consignment shops? Antique stores? (The latter always seem really pricey...)
ReplyDeleteThere is a store called the "As Is". It is basically what Goodwill won't take, doesn't want or can't sell. When I first walked in there I was like oh heck no. But after a few times I fell in love and now I go basically every day. So no, not an antique store and you are right, for the most part antique stores are too expensive and more what the item is "worth." The as is is just a small place full of these huge boxes you have to practically climb into. A lot of it is JUNK, but there are some good finds!
DeleteThat's awesome! I always wonder where people find their treasures :)
